Joel goes into extreme detail and explains the importance of each of the 26 chapters that are included in his book. If someone is just getting started on a homestead, this book will save them thousands of dollars of mistakes by implementing the successful proven methods that Joel has used for years.

It's easy to get excited when starting your own homestead and literally throw caution to the wind.  I strongly suggest by reading this book that the topics and advice that Joel shares in this book will save you years of heartache.  Whether you are thinkig about raising cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, laying chickens, broilers or ducks this book covers each species.

Fencing, water, animal health and pasture management of each species are covered as well.  Joel has an easy-to-understand writing style that makes it simple to follow his instructions.  He shares his frugal money saving techniques that take the place of expensive purchased inputs.
