Broadcasting ryegrass on irrigated land works. We have experienced broacasting on standing crops for grazing. Need some trumpling and cattle walking on the pasture to put the seed in close contact with the soil if sod is dense at start. Nee to do it early in the season, 50 to 60 days before temperatures drop to freezing. Need to increase seeding rate about 30% compared with drill seeding.
