My family recently set up our beef cattle operation for managed intensive grazing. We've always grazed our cattle seasonally, but realized the immense benefits of a rotational approach. My biggest concern and question for you is how to introduce them to fresh pasture coming off winter feeding. We feed mostly good dry hay with corn silage supplement. We have 120acres of pasture fenced. Our old approach was to put our animals out before the grass was prime. We would keep outfeeding until other areas were ready and ease them into deep pasture. This always seemed to work but seems to be a waste of pasture considering out short growing season. Northern Wisconsin! With our new smaller paddock sizes we realize we won't be able to operate in that manner. In your opinion, what is the best way to introduce cattle to pasture every spring. Thank you for any help on this matter.

I received the plans for the Parilla grill from Stockman Grass Farmer when it was first available. Have you seen that type of grill that would be portable? Any pictures on the web that you have seen to give me some ideas on building one? Thanks, Keith O'Neal Pleasant Prairie Meats
