Annibal, I know I have low soil nitrogen because the land has been in row crops for 25+ years w/ basically N-P-K added when the renter had a few extra dollars laying around, so, the land is in fairly tough shape. I have decide to transition to organic and use fish emulsion as my nitrogen source but the results arent there. I can confirm this because where the cow pies were you can see a huge difference in growth. Here are my questions: Have you always had the luxury of not having low soil nitrogen? If so, how long would it typically take to get the nitrogen level up to a satisfactory level? I disked 70% white clover in thinking it would die and supply the N but it came back stronger than ever! Any suggestions how to REALLY set back the clover so I can get a grass seeding in ? I know you chisel plow, but do you plow the clover under too? In Argentina do you use man made sources of N or is it thru Forage Chains & Legumes soil N is built.
