I live in SW Kansas (very dry) with very limited irrigation water available. I am grass-finishing, pastured poultry, some crops and hay. I have an old well that is shallower than my neighbors. (300') I have some water available in the winter, but when the neighbors are all irrigating, we have no water. A new well runs about $50,000 so that is not an option at this time. There is a feed-lot lagoon that ajoins our farm. Should I pursue using their lagoon water for irrigating? Sometimes the salt content is high. Is lagoon water better or worse that no water? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Keith
