I am looking for a natural remedy as apposed to Ivermectin or another chemical to rid cattle of lice. I have searched in books and on the internet for a natural treatment but have not found any information. Does anyone know of a successful alternative treatment?

This year I am carrying 5 steers/heifers through the winter to finish on spring grass for slaughter in April-June 2006. They will be 18-20 mos old and weigh between 1050# and 1150#. This is the second year I have done this since my association with The Stockman Grass Farmer and I have attended one school last year in Mississippi. Last year I supplemented the coastal bermuda hay with alfalfa hay and had fairly good success. This year I found information on chaffhaye from a mutual grass-fed beef raiser. Information is at http://chaffhaye.com I have noticed very good results this year and time will tell concerning the average daily gains. My purpose is to post information concerning chaffhaye and my useage in East Texas without any grown forages for the winter. I stockpile the last cutting of coastal bermuda in the field for the cows, feed hay and supplement with chaffhaye purchased locally. Then when spring legumes and grasses arrive they quit the hay and forage till slaughter. Again: http://chaffhaye.com I think this is a good product . . . Has anyone used it or see any disadvantages ?? Thank you, Danny Burrows
